Good afternoon everyone! I hope you had a happy holiday! Notice the difference in my blog? I had loads of fun doing it but it was quite difficult for someone so technologically challenged. Since 2016 is near its end I thought I would reminisce about the past year to see what I’ve achieved and set some goals for 2017. I know some people don’t set goals and think they’re over rated but I always do. The key is to make them attainable!
Yep! That’s right I now have a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts. What am I going to do with that? Not a clue. I do know that I’m happy working as a waitress for now. I didn’t take time off between semesters in University so I think I deserve a break to just chill. Maybe in a couple of months I’ll apply to some galleries and museums or go back to school (probably not).
This year I completed my first half marathon and really enjoyed it. The training was tough to fit into my schedule and it definitely didn’t go as planned but I did it nonetheless. I felt like I achieved so much fitness wise when it was completed.
I got Nelly! She has brought so much happiness into my life. I’m so happy to have adopted a dog. She forces me to go outside for walks and explore the world!
In May I decided to start this blog, something I’ve been wanting to do for so long. I’m really proud of myself for putting my blog out there and sharing my opinions, photography and writing with the world. I have made so many friends throughout this online community. I don’t know where this blog is going to take me but so far I’m loving it 🙂
Goals for 2017?
Another half marathon.
Now that I’ve completed a half marathon I can’t wait to do another! It’s very addicting! I recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a fitness goal.
I used to be so motivated to work out. It used to be easy. Yes, I walk Nelly 2-3 times a day and my job is a workout in itself (I work in a three floor restaurant). But I feel as though it’s not enough. I have an elliptical, weights and I got a new yoga mat for Christmas so there’s no excuses! I can workout right at home. I want to start off exercising 2 times a week maybe for 30 min or so? And if I feel like it I’ll add another day or up the time I exercise for. It’s not much but it’s attainable with my lifestyle.
On that note…Take the stairs.
I always used to take the stairs. One day I was too tired and took the escalator and never looked back. Because I take the metro to do all my errands and to go to work, taking the stairs WILL make a difference in my physical strength. I started today!
I’m sure you can tell that I love Nelly so much but she does cause quite a bit of mischief. She doesn’t get along well with other dogs and that’s mainly what I want to fix. I want her to be social and have friends and I want to be able to take her for walks and not have to cross the road if another dog is coming towards us. This whole situation is causing me a lot of anxiety! Get Nelly trained by a professional is costly but I believe its beneficial for the both of us.
